RV Lifestyle: Why We Made the Switch
3 Seasoned RVers Share Ideas on Newfound Happiness
The View From the Inside:
In his article “Couple Call RV-Living a ‘Life-Change’” Jordan Larimore describes a dynamic couple Allen and Mary Anglin and their 17 yrs “on the road” as happy RVers. For Mary Anglin, the reasons are simple: “We don’t have electric bills, we don’t have water bills, we don’t have leaves to do every fall, we don’t have fertilizing to do every spring. If we don’t like our neighbors, we can leave.” With no elderly parents or children to care for, this couple from Indiana and California has chosen the freedom of travel as their lifestyle. Twice a year they make sure to stay near medical facilities for annual tests, and apart from that, they regularly chase sunsets. With the average age of RVers at 48, this couple has never looked back. They understand the value of taking things slow, visiting places along the way, and staying 4-5 days. Why drive 500 miles when there is so much to do along the way?

Retired at Age 23
Alyssa Padgett writes in her article “10 Things I Learned When RVing” “I’m irrevocably in love with RV life—it is adventurous, exciting, and we always shock everyone at RV parks when we tell them we are full timers. We joke that we retired at age 23.” With her husband, she has travelled through every state, inspired by her grandparents’ travel stories. She states that living comfortably makes them complacent, and they learned the hard way, i.e. from traveling with a rig too big (29’), that having a more maneuverable size rig makes more sense. Most importantly, she points out that relationships are more important than things – so true!
